Buying Our Horses

Step 1: Select a Horse or Mare

Step 2: Reserve with a Deposit

Step 3: Arrange for Training & Pickup

Step 4: Provide Full Payment

Our horse buying process is designed to be convenient and adaptable to our customers' needs. Typically, customers select a horse or mare from our sales list and opt for boarding and training services at our ranch. Reserving their chosen horse with a deposit, often one-third or less of the purchase price. Customers then cover expenses such as vaccinations, veterinary care, and farrier services on a pay-as-you-go basis. Quarterly payments towards the purchase price are appreciated.

Upon full payment of the purchase price, the horse's pedigree is transferred, completing the ownership transfer seamlessly.

We want to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and your new equine companion. To make the process as easy as possible, here are a few important points to keep in mind:

  • Payment Methods: We happily accept personal checks for down payments. However, for final payments, we ask for cashier's checks or cash.
  • Horse Readiness: As caretakers, we take pride in preparing our horses for their new homes. We'll only approve the departure of a horse when WE feel they're fully ready. This means no 'green broke' horses will be sent off prematurely.
  • Care While Boarding: While we take pride in the meticulous care we provide to your new mount while they're with us, it's important to understand that we cannot assume legal responsibility for any loss of horses under our care. Rest assured, we do everything humanly possible to ensure their well-being during their stay with us.
  • Post-Purchase Responsibility: Once a horse is purchased and leaves our ranch, the responsibility for their care shifts to their new owner. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible for our horses after their departure from our premises. Prior to purchase, we welcome and encourage potential buyers to arrange a veterinary inspection of our horses at their own expense. This ensures peace of mind and clarity for all parties involved.

We're here to assist you every step of the way.

At the Box Hanging Three Ranch, transparency and open communication are paramount. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these policies, please feel free to contact us.
